| Illinois High School Association (IHSA) will require a 35-second shot clock for varsity basketball games starting in the 2026-2027 school year.The shot clock requirement will apply to both boys and girls games.IHSA has allowed shot clocks in tournaments and shootouts in recent seasons, receiving an overwhelming amount of positive feedback and support.
